Scotia Pine Campground ― RV Park Review

Truro, Nova Scotia Campground Review Scotia Pine Campground ended up being our “home base” for a bit over a week while we saw some of the sites in central Nova Scotia. Then, after a trip over to Digby, on the western coast, we stayed again at Scotia Pine for a night on our way back up to the Amherst area. The sites were closer together than we like, but there was adequate room between them for the slides and awnings. The sites are somewhat narrow, so the fire pits are at one end of the site, rather than in the [Read more…]

Linwood Harbour Campground—RV Park Review

Linwood, Nova Scotia Campground Review   We timed our Nova Scotia trip to coincide with the Highland Games, held annually in Antigonish, NS. We were hoping to stay at an RV park right in Antigonish itself, but waited too long to make our reservations and they were full! Using the Good Sam Club Trip Planner and other resources, we found Linwood Harbour Campground. It is approximately 23 mi. (37 km) east of Antigonish; further away than we had hoped to stay. However, it isn’t too far from the highway and, from their website’s photo gallery, it looked pretty nice. This [Read more…]

Loch Lomond RV Park—RV Park Review

Amherst, Nova Scotia Campground Review   This is an RV park review based on our two stays at Loch Lomond RV Park during our month-long visit to Nova Scotia. On the way in, we stayed for a one night layover on our way to the Antigonish area and a visit to the Highland Games. We were assigned to a great little grassy pull-through site with a concrete patio, next to a super friendly couple from Ontario. On the way back to the U.S., we spent five nights here. We wanted to make a day trip to explore Joggins Fossil Cliffs [Read more…]

Rockwood Park - RV Park Review

St. John, New Brunswick Campground Review We visited Rockwood Park Campground twice for one-night layovers. The first was on our way through New Brunswick heading to Nova Scotia. Since the directions on the park’s website left a LOT to be desired, particularly as we’d never been to the park or to Saint John before, we stopped at an Information Center on way into St. John. There, a young employee kindly provided directions to Rockwood Park. These led us along several, very busy in-town city streets that circled the heart of Saint John, passed back over the highway, and finally to [Read more…]
